Year 1 enjoyed an amazing trip to Fort Nelson! To enrich our learning about Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole, we travelled back in time to the Crimean War. The children explored the Barracks and hospital. We decided it was very dirty! Miss Nightingale taught us how to keep a hospital clean and why this is important.

In English, Year 1 have been writing Christmas Cards. The children we able to see the purpose of their writing and why it is important to practice this skill. We went on a lovely, local walk to the post box to send these home.

To help us understand creation and the gifts God has given us, Year 1 got out in nature to explore the environment. The children chose their favourite parts of creation and added these to a creation stick. They particularly enjoyed the autumnal colours throughout the forest.
